Note: If a password is shorter than six characters, extra characters are ignored. This is why some players report the “Super Mode On!!” code as SUPERB.

Rd.Select Active

Unlocks Round Select. Until you power off the console, selecting Game Start takes you to the Round Select menu instead of normal gameplay. (This setting persists through a soft reset.)

Boss Rush Mode

Unlocks Boss Rush mode. Until you power off the console, selecting Game Start takes you to Boss Rush mode instead of normal gameplay. (This setting persists through a soft reset.) In Boss Rush mode, you face each boss in order, with the game tracking each fight’s time and totaling them at the end.

Time Attack Mode

Unlocks Time Attack mode. Until you power off the console, selecting Game Start takes you to Time Attack mode instead of normal gameplay. (This setting persists through a soft reset.) Time Attack mode lets you choose any bonus area and compete against Sega’s record times.

Super Mode On!!

Changes the currently selected difficulty to a hidden Super option. You cannot select Super as a normal difficulty. If you change the difficulty to anything else after entering this password, you must enter it again to return to Super.

True Sight

Enables true sight. Hidden treasure grab points are marked with a blue star.

Onchi System Set Up!!

Unlocks the Onchi setting and the music tracks ENDING1 STAR HUMMING and ENDING2 NEXT CRUISE in the Sound Theater (accessible from the options menu). Setting Onchi to On makes the currently playing track play out of tune. (The word “Onchi” translates from Japanese to “the state of being tone‑deaf” and often describes bad karaoke singing.) Playing a track turns off Onchi mode. To hear a track out of tune, start the track, then switch Onchi back to On.

Worst Score Coming!!

Changes HIGH-SCORE in attract mode to WORSTSCORE. If the high score is the default 10000 points, WORSTSCORE shows 9999900 points instead.

Password Clear!!

Disables the effects of any previously entered passwords.

No known effect beyond the displayed message.

Verified using ROM with CRC32 of 6511aa61 with US console region.
